  3.                  CREATING YOUR EXAMINATION MENU

  5.   ICES enables the instructor to  create  a  special  examination
  6. menu  for  use by the students.  The program accomodates up to 20 
  7. different exams or quizes, so you must provide ICES with 1 to  20
  8. examination  menu  items  which will define the exam menu for the
  9. students.  
  10.  
  11.   Suppose, for example, that you want to use only six  exams  for
  12. your  course.   In  this  example let's suppose that you want the
  13. exams to cover the following topics.

  15.      Algebraic Manipulations
  16.      Descriptive Statistics
  17.      Probability Theory
  18.      Linear Regression
  19.      Simple Correlation
  20.      The t-test

  24.   Once you have given ICES the above definitions, it will be able
  25. to construct an Examination Menu such as the one shown below.

  40. ORGANIZING YOUR EXAM MENU

  42.   As you well know, advance  planning  saves  much  grief  later.
  43. Thus,  you  should  carefully  plan  the way in which you wish to 
  44. organize the work that ICES will  be  called  upon  to  help  you
  45. manage.   In  this  regard,  you should write your Exam Menu on a
  46. separate work sheet before attempting to enter it as your menu.

  48.   Once you have entered your exam menu items, ICES  will  present
  49. you with your final Exam Menu to make sure that it is constructed
  50. as  you  wish.  You will also be given an opportunity to re-enter
  51. the exam menu items if that is needed.

  61.   You have an existing Exam Menu File!  If you proceed with  this
  62. portion of the setup procedure you will destroy the existing Exam
  63. Menu  File.   Once that occurs, you will have to create a new one 
  64. and then insure that exams are congruent  with  the  menu  items.
